LOCAL NEWS

The paper version of the March 2012 edition of The Westerner (#36) is now at the printers & will be in resident's mailboxes during the first week of March. Look for the story about the Coast Guard Auxiliary's move to the Parks board dock in Horseshoe Bay, and the update on "the roundabout" at Marine and Keith.

WRA Regular Meeting - February 28th at 7:30 pm

Please note date change and location for this meeting. This event will be held in the Gleneagles Community Centre Lobby starting at 7.30 pm. See Poster>>
The topic is "Aging in Place" and the speakers will be:
West Vancouver Director of Planning Bob Sokol who will outline the findings of the Community Dialogue on Neighbourhood Character and Housing.
Developer Kamran Tafreshi who will show a sketch of the 6000 square foot house that he can build on his Marine Drive site down from the Community Centre plus sketches of two almost 3000 square foot houses that he would like to build instead.
Architect, planner and developer Michael Geller who will finish up with a presentation of solutions for aging in place used in various communities.

West Vancouver Seniors Activity Centre
A visit to the West Vancouver Seniors Activity Centre can be very rewarding.  The Centre offers programs suited to a wide variety of interests, including exercises, drop-in wellness clinics, conversation groups, bridge games, billiards and bus outings, to name just a few.  Enjoy their Garden Side Cafe with excellent food at reasonable prices.  Open to all!
The Centre also offers meaningful volunteer opportunities - which is a great way to meet new people and remain active and involved in your community.
